First OHDSI Latin America Symposium — Salvador, Brazil — 30-31 July, 2026
Data science for Health Equity — Taking the OMOP CDM beyond the clinical perspective
Come share your work on health data interoperability and common data models at the First OHDSI Latin America Symposium, to be held in Salvador, Brazil, on 30th–31st July.
We are currently receiving abstracts for posters to be displayed during our event. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
Topics of interest
Taking advantage of real-world evidence to answer relevant research questions, preferably with a Latin American focus, and aligned with the Symposium's overarching theme: "Data science for Health Equity".
Research and development of new analytical methods for evidence generation, and empirical evaluation of method performance.
Design and implementation of hardware and open-source software solutions that leverage health data standards or tools to enable evidence generation.
Preferably with a Latin American focus: including interoperability standards, common data model and standardized vocabularies development and evaluation, ETL research and applications, and data quality assessment.
Experiences in federated learning and inter-institutional collaboration.
Submissions are not limited to finished research but could also focus on future plans to adopt the OMOP-CDM, or another health data standard, in Latin America, share experience in mapping health data from the Region, research directions that may be valuable for the community to initiate collaboration, amongst other related topics.
All submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Symposium. Successful posters and software demonstrations will be presented during a collaborator showcase. Collaborators will be invited to share their final posters onto a poster repository on the OHDSI Latin America channels.
Additionally, on the second day of the Symposium, there will be a session dedicated to a selected set of abstracts which will be presented orally by their authors.
Requirements
- Maximum 500 words
- Must include: Title, Background, Methods, Results, Discussion/Conclusions, References
- Unpublished in the peer-review literature at the time of abstract submission
- At least one author participating in-person at the event to present the work during the poster session

Access the Microsoft Forms in your language of interest, fill in all fields, and copy and paste your abstract into the corresponding space. Figures, tables, and equations can be added by uploading them to a shareable URL and including the link in the corresponding space in the submission form.
